The SCEDC is a government/non-profit entity with the purpose being to promote, assist, and enhance economic development in the city of Sterling City. The SCEDC operates in accordance with the Texas Development Corporation Act of 1979 and is funded solely through city sales tax.

The SCEDC invites all potential businesses to contact our office so that we can work together to make your plans of starting a business in Sterling City a reality.

For those existing business owners in Sterling City who want to expand, we would like to help you as well. The SCEDC can offer assistance with business plans and with your search for information needed to build a thriving business. The EDC may also be able to help with funding of your new or expanded business project or help to locate funding opportunities.
